“T3: Timber, Talent, Technology”: A new generation of modern office.
This sustainability-driven creative office is the tallest timber building in North America, a construction that cuts embodied carbon by 40-50% over traditional office buildings.
The Challenge:
Our long-time collaborators, a Chicago-based design firm, approached us to design custom rugs for a vibrant amenity space in a Toronto office building. The objective was to create rugs that would be both playful and minimalist, reflecting the project’s focus on wellness and sustainability in a way that encouraged creativity and collaboration among users.
The Solution:
Our design team crafted three unique rugs tailored to support the space's atmosphere of productivity and well-being. Inspired by forms known to enhance human creativity and collaboration, we developed simple, engaging patterns that complemented the natural timber and furniture accents within the space.
For materials, we selected our signature ultra-dense, hand-tufted quality made from New Zealand wool, cotton, and other biodegradable fibers. This natural, sustainable choice aligned perfectly with the project’s environmental goals, while also delivering a durable and luxurious finish suited to the high-traffic environment.
The Result: The final collection features three rugs with simple yet forward-thinking designs, adding warmth and personality to the office’s amenity space. This project reinforced the wellness-centered aesthetic, allowing the rugs to become a subtle but impactful part of the space’s overall ambiance and functionality.
